Type

You have to know that there are different types of fragrances. There is floral. Floral is the most popular type of perfume in the market. It characterizes sweet scent, light and romantic. These perfumes are blended with flowers like jasmine, rose, lavender and lily. For men, they can have orange blossom. Then there is oriental. Oriental originated from the exotic parts of the world. It is made with cinnamon, vanilla and other spices. It characterizes sensuality and warmth. There is also woody. Woody is favoured by men. EDP has a fragrance concentration between 10 to 30% and Eau de Toilette (EDT) with fragrance concentration between 2 to 20%. The lowest fragrance concentration is Eau de Cologne (EDC). It has 2 to 3% of fragrance. Perfumes last longer than any other types.

Notes

Fragrances have notes. There are three notes – top, middle and base. Top notes refer to the initial scent you smell right after spraying it. Top notes fade quickly. The middle or heart notes are the scent that progresses after the top note. Finally, there is the base note. The base note refers to the heaviest scent that usually remains the longest.
